ТУРУККА КИИРИИ (turukka kiirii) translates to "going into a trance" in the Sakha (Yakut) language. This release features acoustic renditions of two tracks from KUTURAR's previous full-length album along with one completely new offering, making use of traditional Sakha instruments such as kүpsүүr & kyryimpa throughout (in addition to the infectious, hypnotic post-punk saxophone leads).

KUTURAR was formed in the spring of 2022 in the city of Yakutsk, forging a unique symbiosis of hardcore punk, doom, and stoner metal--flavored with indigenous Sakha pagan traditions and culture. All songs are written in their native Sakha language (a Turkic language spoken in Northeastern Siberia)--with lyrics about local problems, personal experiences, philosophical observations.

“Kuturar” is a complex action, the chant of a shaman who has entered a trance. This word can also be translated as “to encourage.”
